Public Relation and Social Sensitization Program

Public Relation and Social Sensitization (PReSS) Program plays a critical role in YRDP’s communication and digital engagement. The program amplifies voices and stories of youth to inspire others and promote their values and achievements and young role models in civic engagement through YRDP social media platforms. The Program also provides technical support to other programs, amplifying YRDP’s impact and helping achieve the organization’s overall goals. 

Program Objectives

The PReSS Program aims to:

  • Enhance capacity of youth in using digital platforms in a safe and secure manners
  • Leverage youth achievements and influence to engage the publicand stakeholders
  • Promote role models, values, achievement and best practices of YRDP youth through digital platforms
  • Encourage young people to exercise their digital rightsand contribute to positive social change
  • Support other programs with digital communication and online advocacy

Program Approach

The program combines communication, capacity-building, and collaboration:

  1. Publicizing Youth Achievements: Share lessons learned, best practices, and youth contributions through online tools and platforms.
  2. Media Production: Develop inspiring digital content, digital literacy and advocacy skills, organize podcasts, online video content and digital campaigns to sensitize the public.
  3. Capacity Building: Train youth in social media skills, digital security, online rights, ethics, and online advocacy.
  4. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with other program staff, networks, and like-minded partners to amplify the impact of youth initiatives.
